The emotional brain is highly plastic. It does not change by insight or knowledge (thinking brain), it changes most effectively in response to emotional experience in real time. EBT Groups provide these experiences in the form of carefully designed courses. If you notice behaviors that you do that are not logical but you can’t stop engaging in them, such as going to excess food, alcohol, people pleasing, merging, distancing, rescuing or thinking too much, these are groups for you. These behaviors are caused by circuits that are allostatic (unbalanced of a particular sort). They are survival circuits and embedded in them are unstoppable drives. These groups are about breaking these circuits, thus ending the drive to go to excess and enabling more joy.
